The CADDY® SFCLT Seismic Fixture Clamp received an evaluation report from ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES), demonstrating that it meets code requirements. Building officials, architects, contractors, specifiers, designers and others utilize the ICC-ES Evaluation Reports to provide a basis for using or approving the CADDY SFCLT in construction projects following the 2006 International Building Code (IBC) and the 1997 Uniform Building Code (UBC).
The CADDY SFCLT, a cold-formed process from No. 20 gauge galvanized steel in five configurations, is used to provide positive attachment of recessed fluorescent light fixtures (luminaries) to framing members of metal suspension systems for acoustical tile and lay-in ceilings. It also provides an alternative to using the two slack No. 12 gauge wires required by the Ceiling and Interior Systems Construction Association (CISCA).
The CADDY SFCLT secures the light fixture and reinforces, stabilizes and maintains the main runner/cross runner connections of the suspended ceiling system during and after an event as intended by the Code. This product will help to revolutionize the installation of recessed lighting fixtures and suspended ceiling systems.
ICC-ES is a subsidiary of the International Code Council, a membership association dedicated to building safety and fire prevention that develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings, including homes and schools. Most U.S. cities, counties and states that adopt codes choose the International Codes developed by the International Code Council.
